To get started, you will need to download the Launcher onto the computer that will be displaying your KODEX Experiences.
Chrome Users: you will see the download appear in the lower left. Click the arrow, then click “Open.”
Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer users: you will see the download appear at the bottom of the screen. Click “Run.”
An installation window will appear. Click “Install.”
On some machines, you may be prompted by Windows SmartScreen to run the application. Click “More Info,” then “Run Anyway.”
You are now ready to install the KODEX application on your hardware. See Installing KODEX for complete instructions.
Once you have downloaded the Launcher file (and have all of your content loaded within your CMS), it’s time to get KODEX up and running on your hardware. Find the KODEX icon located on the desktop (or the start menu) and double click on it to open the Launcher window.
Type in your Username and Password, provided to you within your KODEX Welcome email, and click the Login button to get started.
Click/Touch on the “Forgot your Password?” link at the bottom of the window and follow instructions from your screen.
Click/Touch on the “Forgot your Username?” link at the bottom of the window.
Email support@kodexinteractive.com to retrieve your account information.
Once you receive your account information, open the Launcher again and login with your provided credentials.
In order for you to start (running) your KODEX Experiences, we will need you to install the KODEX System on your computer from the KODEX Launcher. To install, locate the KODEX Launcher icon on your desktop and login to your account. Once logged in, you may begin your installation.
Click/Touch the “Install KODEX” button
Wait for loading bar to fill completely
Touch the “Launch KODEX” button to start the application. You may also Click/Touch the “Unattended Mode” or “Keep KODEX on top” checkboxes if you would like for KODEX to be out of manual mode
After your initial installation, KODEX app updates will become available to you. In order to keep your Experiences running smoothly and looking beautiful, we will need you to regularly (manually or automatically) update your system.
Click/Touch the “Install Latest Update” button.
Wait for loading bar to fill completely or Click/Touch the “Cancel Update” button if you do not wish to update your system at that time.
Touch the “Launch KODEX” button to start the application. You may also Click/Touch the “Unattended Mode” or “Keep KODEX on top” checkboxes if you would like for KODEX to be out of manual mode.
After you Launch KODEX, should you Tab out of the application, this window will show that your application is currently “Running.”
Once you are logged in to the KODEX Launcher, you can access your account details in the upper right corner. Click on the arrow to view the dropdown menu.
View your account username and email address
View the current (running) Launcher version
View your last update
Ability to automatically update KODEX
Ability to keep KODEX running
Ability to run KODEX on top of all other applications
Ability to change your password
Ability to uninstall the KODEX application from your computer
Ability to Logout of the KODEX application/Launcher
Click/Touch on the “Change Password” button in the Account Information dropdown.
Type in your old password and enter a new password within the fields below. Click/Touch the “Submit” button when finished.
Click/Touch on the “Uninstall KODEX” button in the Account Information dropdown.
If you wish to uninstall the application, Click/Touch “Yes.” If not, Click/Touch “No.”
Click/Touch on the Location(s) dropdown
Select the location where your kiosk is located. If you do not have locations set within your CMS, it will default to “All Locations.”
After selecting your Location, Click/Touch on the Collection dropdown.
Scroll through the list to select the Collection you would like to launch.
After making your selection, Click/Touch the “Launch Collection” button.
Click/Touch on the “Settings” button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
On the left side of the popup, select how many minutes you would like for your screen to be idle (not being used) before it goes to a screensaver mode.
On the right side of the popup, you can turn your background sound on/off.
Click/Touch the “Done” button when you are finished.
We understand that things happen, so we have adjusted our platform to continue to run KODEX without an internet connection (for a limited timeframe).
Allows users to continue using KODEX if an internet connection is not present
User must have previously logged in and synced content
Default is a 1-day grace period, then you must connect to the internet to verify your license and check for updates
Offline duration can be extended on a per-case basis, such as trade shows or traveling demonstrations. If you need to extend your offline duration, contact support@kodexinteractive.com.
