We’ve heard your content struggles, and we’re here to help! Follow these best practices below for a smoother content upload process.
Start by creating folders for each content section (i.e. Animals, Flowers, Food)
Separate your Media from your Content documents
Make sure your filenames are easily recognizable. If they are very long or random, be sure to rename them before entering them into your spreadsheet and uploading.
Once your folders are organized, it’s time to enter content into your spreadsheet
Uploading mass amounts of content is made simple with our spreadsheets. Click the button below to download the template and get started.
Spreadsheet is compatible with Microsoft Excel 2009 or later versions.
Open your spreadsheet and confirm that it looks like the image below. Once you have the correct document open, you may begin entering in your content one line at a time.
Open your Content document (if applicable). Enter in the Title, Section Image, Year, and Description
Navigate to your Finder window and copy and paste the filenames into the “Media” column. This will eliminate any typos and issues while uploading your media. Make sure you separate your filenames with a comma and a space between each filename (i.e. Animals-1.jpg, Animals-2.jpg)
Once you’ve completed your spreadsheet, it’s time to upload your content to the CMS. See Next Steps.
Click on the “Audio Files” tab at the bottom of the Excel document.
Enter in the Filename
If you want the user to see a Title and Description (so they will have context behind what they are listening to), enter in a Title and Description in the columns next to the Audio Filename. If you do not enter a Title and/or Description, the filename will be shown within the application.
For a complete explanation of how your spreadsheet translates to your application, see the images below.
After you do your initial upload, you will no longer need your original spreadsheet. The hard copy will be saved within the KODEX CMS and can be accessed and downloaded at anytime. Any changes you make to your Collection will also be updated within that spreadsheet automatically.
